Circle City Flyers Spring Fun Fly This is event is free to all pilots! All Welcome!, but MUST be current member of AMA. Pilots may enter as few or as many events as they would like. Pilots may use different planes, gas/nitro or electric for each event. See specific events for exceptions. Final decisions on points awarded, maneuvers performed, rules followed, etc. are at the Air Marshals discretion. Sign-ups for events will start at 7:30 a.m. the day of the Fun Fly. Strict adherence to safety rules will be in effect for all members, guests and spectators. Medals given to each event winner and a plaque for the overall Spring Fun Fly top points winner. Event Order Determined at Event Based on Time and Weather/Wind Permitting Drag Race : Pilots will race their planes, with wings, down the runway, round the far end and race back to finish line. Planes must be air worthy. No stripped down fuselages. Planes must remain on ground, no flight. Multiple planes drag at the same time. Medal given to event winner. Musical Planes: All contestants will get airborne at the same time. When the music stops, pilots will land as quickly as possible, runway, or dirt. Last plane to land is eliminated. Remaining planes will take to the sky and the process will continue until there is only one plane left! Multiple planes in the air at one time. Medal given to event winner. Climb and Glide: Pilots are given 20 seconds to climb as high as they can. At the 20 second mark the command will be given to cut motor/dead stick and try to have the longest glide time. Must land on asphalt runway. Longest glide time wins. No gliders allowed: I.e. Radians, Sky Surfers, Bixlers.. Please check with Air Marshalls if there is a question as to plane. Multiple planes in the air at one time. Medal given to event winner. Limbo : Pilots must fly their plane under limbo ribbon. Ribbon is lowered and the process continues until we have the lowest limbo plane. Flying over, under, around ribbon or touching the ground, breaking ribbon will eliminate you. Must be able to fly away from pass. Multiply planes in the air at one time. Medal given to event winner. Table Top Carrier Touch and Go: Pilots will take to the air and try to touch and go on tables positioned along the center line of the runway. Points for successful touch and go. No points for crashing after touch. Must be able to fly away after touch and go. One plane/pilot at a time. Medal given to event winner. Nerves of Steel: Pilots will have 30 seconds to take to the air, trim their plane in straight and level flight. Within the 30 second time frame, pilots will lay their transmitters down on table in front of them: clock starts. Picking up transmitter will stop the clock. Longest untouched transmitter will be the winner. Planes must remain in straight flight. One plane/pilot at a time. Medal given to event winner. Whiffle Ball Drop: Pilots will affix provided Whiffle Ball container to the wing of their plane, then ascend to desired height and loop or roll to drop Whiffle Ball. Whiffle Ball landing closest to runway center on initial hit is the winner. Time limit will be in place. One plane/pilot at a time. Static display for our scale models or just cool planes. This is a great way for family and friends to see all the cool and interesting planes we fly. Bring a spare plane and put it along the fence to display. NO medal given for static display.
